My Prayer In This Season

Revival Starts Here: Pray Boldly, Live Fully

In this video, Pastor Jason Mayfield delivers a passionate and unapologetic call to revival, urging believers to pray boldly and live fully in the power of God. Preaching from Habakkuk 3:1-2, he lays out a clear vision for what God is about to do in the church and challenges believers to shift their mindset from nostalgia to expectancy.

Morning Prayer & Personal Discipline

Pastor Mayfield begins by sharing his daily prayer routine, emphasizing the importance of both Bible reading and prayer. Though he naturally leans toward Bible study, he has developed an 11-page personal prayer guide to keep him engaged in prayer. To jumpstart his time with God, he prays through short, powerful prayers from Scripture—like the Lord’s Prayer, Jabez’s prayer, and Elijah’s call for fire—to align his heart with God's will.

Stop Talking About "Used-To"—Start Expecting "About-To"

One of the strongest rebukes in this message is against the common mindset of "used to" thinking. Many Christians talk about how the church used to be powerful, how the youth used to be on fire, how worship used to be something special. But Pastor Mayfield challenges believers to rewrite their language. Instead of saying, “We used to see God move,” he calls the church to declare, “God is about to move in this place.”

He preaches with conviction that God is about to rip the lid off, rend the heavens, and pour out His Spirit in a way that will shake everything.

Three Key Prayers for This Season

Pastor Mayfield unpacks three bold prayers from Habakkuk 3:1-2 that should shape every believer’s heart in this season:

  1. Praying for Repentance – He believes that a massive harvest of souls is coming, and people are already ready to receive Jesus. Citing John 4:35, where Jesus tells His disciples the fields are white for harvest—before the Cross even happened—he emphasizes that people are more ready for salvation than the church realizes. After 2,000 years of gospel ministry, the world is primed for revival, and it’s time for the church to start reaping the harvest.

  2. Praying for Revelation – Pastor Mayfield calls for a fresh revelation of Jesus Christ to sweep through the church. He warns against the modern trend of people casually claiming “God told me” while having no real biblical foundation. True revelation, he argues, is always rooted in time spent in Scripture and prayer. If someone genuinely hears from God, there will be forensic evidence—a trail leading back to consistent, disciplined time in the Word.

He also takes a strong stance against sensational preaching that lacks substance. The church doesn’t need another vague “God is about to do a new thing” message. It needs deep, biblical truth centered on Christ and the Cross.

  3. Praying for Revival – Pastor Mayfield proclaims that the church is due for a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Looking at historical patterns, he shows that every 25 to 40 years, a major move of God has taken place—from Azusa Street to the Healing Revivals, from the Charismatic Renewal to Brownsville. The last nationwide revival faded out in the early 2000s, which means, statistically, we’re overdue.

But he doesn’t just rely on history—he shares a prophetic conviction that within the next 18-36 months, the world will experience the next great move of God’s Spirit.

The Pentecostal Church Has Been Domesticated

At this point, Pastor Mayfield doesn’t hold back. He loves the Pentecostal church, but he boldly states that it has become domesticated—a once wild, untamed force of revival now tamed into a house cat. Too many churches suppress the Holy Spirit, relegating Him to small groups and special services, instead of giving Him full reign in the church.

He makes it clear: if God is looking for a place to pour out His Spirit, the church should be standing up and declaring, “We volunteer!”

Supernatural Testimony: A Church Staff Baptized in the Holy Spirit

To illustrate the power of true revival, Pastor Mayfield shares a remarkable testimony. Last summer, he was invited to a church in South Texas where the entire staff was skeptical of the Holy Spirit’s power—none of them were Spirit-filled. Before the revival service, the pastor asked him to sit down with the staff for 90 minutes and break down the biblical foundation of Pentecost to help them understand.

At the end of the meeting, he asked if they wanted to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit. They said yes.

And in one moment of prayer, eight out of the ten staff members received the baptism of the Holy Ghost.

These were the same people who had been skeptical—who had questioned whether the supernatural was even real. But when the power of God showed up, their theology changed in an instant.

Closing: Stop Waiting—Become the Move of God

As the video wraps up, Pastor Mayfield challenges believers with this final thought: stop waiting for a move of God—become the move of God.

The world isn’t looking for another weak, predictable church service. It’s looking for a church that walks in the boldness, power, and supernatural reality of Jesus Christ.

With hands lifted, the declaration is made: “Lord, if You’re looking for a place to move—we are ready!”
